One of my many goals for 2008 is to introduce “Curriculum Mapping” and begin the dialogue related to collaborative efforts that would ultimately result in a comprehensive K-12 curriculum. I know many of you are familiar with the mapping concept and are eager to begin the process. Thanks again to the high school teaching staff for allowing me to present the mapping power point on Jan. 2 at the Institute Day. With some technological assistance, I will try to add a link to the power point.
I am really excited about getting started mapping with the Junior High. As a freshmen English teacher I am looking forward to having a better understanding of what experiences my students have had at the immediate preceding level. I think it may help us all raise the bar in our teaching. I know that we have done this with each level of English at the High School and it has really focused my teaching in particular areas by understanding what will be expected of my students in the following year.
